9. Sylvester Estes

Sylvester was sometimes a church warden OF RINGWOULD PARISH CHURCH. He Married
Ellen Martin of Greay (GREAT) Hardres on 24 Nov 1625. Ellen was of Waldershire according to her will of 1649.

Sylvester died some time before the December 1667 wedding of his daughter Ellen, to his uncle (COUSIN) Richard's grandson, Moses Estes. Sylvester's youngest child, Abraham, would formally
found one of the American branchs of our Estes family.

20. Richard Estes

Richard worked as a Black Smith. Not much is known about Richard and few
records exist of his life. A couple of places he is listed as a drunkard.
Richard voted in the congressional election on Aug 13, 1835 on the JohnsRiver
at Whites Election Ground. In about 1840 He took his two eldest sons,Leonard
and Milroy and went to Indiana to seek his fortune. Richard returned when
Louisa died in 1848. The two sons were not heard from again. The familyhas a
bill of sale from Richard Estes to son Joseph P. Estes for "One NegroGirl,
Lila, oath taken by William Puett in July 1848.
