The data on this family was obtained from Mary Jean Voegtlin, 2341 Rugby Ave
College Park, GA 30337. The information shows 12 children
and possibly a 13th with a note showing the name of Francis Boswell the
same name as the wife of John M. (Marshall) Estes. It is unknown whether this
name is a 13th child or has some other meaning.

In the book, Estes Genealogies by Charles Estes Page 261, para 3644 Benjamin Este. It states that Joel Estes son of Benjamin was born in Bedford Co., TN 22 January 1780. This apparently an error as Bedford Co., TN was not created until 1806/7. On the same page in para 3660, Joel Estes - its states that Joel was born 22 January 1780 in Bedford C., VA which is much more realistic. - Roy Eastes, Compiler.

In the book Estes Genealogies by Charles Estes, page 262, para 3663, says - Henry Cary Estes b: Bedford Co, VA - 9 January 1889. This is an error as it further states that he died in the Winter of 1839. He was probably born in 1809.
