County, TX, having lived there 6 years. He said he was age 68. His firstbattle
was Fort Donaldson, where he was captured and remained a prisoner sevenmonths

Chicago. After being exchanged he fought at Port Hudson, Raymond, Jackson,
Chickamauga, Missionary Ridge, and all the battles between GeneralSherman and
the Army of Tennessee. This account was from an affadavit on 30 September1913,
by Tilman
Fowler, who was orderly Sergeant of Company A, seventh Texas Infantry.He served as a private in the Civil War in Company A, 7th Texas Infantry
